Testimonials

EXCEL has been a terrific volleyball club for our family. We have been very happy with the programs and the staff. Our daughter has grown so much as a volleyball player, a teammate, a leader, and a person since coming to EXCEL. We have played two years with the club, and I can't say enough about the outstanding coaching staff. They do what they do because they truly love volleyball and the coaches work with each girl to bring out their true talents. Their results speak for themselves: her Excel team has ranked in the top 5 in North Texas for past two years and played at Nationals in 2012. She has gained many lasting friendships at EXCEL and looks forward to hanging out with her EXCEL teammates on and off the court. EXCEL is her home away from home.

- Lynne Hogan, daughter Shannon Hogan (14U)

My oldest daughter began playing for EXCEL when the club was formed in 2006.  We were so pleased with EXCEL’s atmosphere that she never even tried out for another club.  She is now attending college on a volleyball scholarship thanks to the excellent training she received from EXCEL.  We are so blessed to have our younger daughter following in her sister's footsteps.  She started playing for EXCEL last season and we don't have any intention of going anywhere else.  EXCEL is our volleyball family!

         - Heidi Blasingame, daughters Kate (13U) and Libby Blasingame (college athlete)

The EXCEL coaches are about making the girls better by building a positive team experience.  Winning is still the goal, but it isn’t the only thing that matters.  The ability to choose the level of competitiveness is a nice option. Traveling across the nation or locally is a choice. Our experience with the coaching staff has been nothing but professional. That's what I want from a program. No mind games, no emotional outbursts, just leadership.  Our only regret is that we did not pursue EXCEL sooner.  We are ready for the next season to start!

         - Tisa Salazar, daughter Marissa Salazar (18U)

Our two daughters have both played for Excel and we love the overall feel of the club.  The attitude is competitive and challenging while still keeping in mind what's best for the girls. Coaches Shea and Shawn made the14s season a ton of fun mixed with lots of learning and hard work, which ultimately led to a trip to Nationals.

6-2 or 5-1 Offensive System

In the game of volleyball, it is almost every athlete’s goal to be a 6-rotation player.  Staying in for all 6 rotations means that as a player, you can do a lot of things well: attack, defend, and serve receive.  From the setting position, it means that not only does the coach trust you to run the court for the entire duration of the match, but you are capable of blocking and defending at a high level as well.

From a coach’s perspective, we are focused on putting out a lineup and running a system that maximizes the talent of our team and minimizes our weaknesses.
