Sydney Yogi, Head Coach

Sydney Yogi is a new Dallas resident and this will be her first year coaching with Excel. She has many years of previous coaching experience in both boys’ and girls’ club volleyball as a head coach for ages 12-16 with various clubs from the Austin area.

Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Sydney started playing volleyball competitively when she was 11. In her club volleyball career she won a gold, a bronze, and two silver medals at Girl’s Nationals while earning two All-Tournament Team selections. Internationally, she competed for Team USA as part of the Youth National Team where she garnered MVP and Best Libero honors at two prominent tournaments.

She was recruited to play volleyball for the University of Texas at Austin where she served as a team captain for three years. She helped lead the Longhorns to four Big 12 Championships and three straight Final Four appearances. Off the court, she earned her B.S. in Psychology and served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Currently, she is completing her Doctorate of Pharmacy at UT Austin.

Sydney is excited to help develop the boys’ program at Excel. Her brother currently plays collegiately at Cal State Northridge, and her boyfriend, Erik, is the libero on the USA Men’s National Team. This equips her with extensive knowledge in boys’ volleyball that she is eager to share with the next generation of players.
