Minnesota State – Mankato (2017)
First, I see myself as a team player and a fierce competitor who gets after it whether I'm on the court or in the classroom! I work extremely hard on the court everyday to prepare myself physically and mentally. I take many private lessons, from practical on court to studying film to work on game strategy. I attended the USA High Performance A3 Camp in 2014, made the top team and went undefeated. This summer I made the USA HP A2 Invitational and was selected as an alternate to the Continental Team. At home I work with my weighted balls, work outside at my home net, and pretty much slam a ball against any wall around. I watch every college game, and watch some so many times that my family makes fun of me. I read as much material as I can on the mental aspect of being a high level athlete and leader. I have always been the Captain of the teams I have played on and I have lead most of those teams to go further then they ever have in the past. I earn the Captain role year after year because others see me as a complete player who can rally the team, Iead by example, and my peers look up to me for support, motivation and encouragement. I made Varsity as a freshman, and have never rotated out of a game. In high school, we normally run a 5/1 with me, but this year Coach has called on me to play outside and right side hitter as well as setter. I lead in aces and kills, second in blocks and digs. I am All-District Academic, All -District 1rst Team and MVP. I take this game very seriously and am in it to win it, but I have fun all the while. My goals are to play NCAA Volleyball. With my GPA at 3.7 on a 4.0 scale, it is important I am challenged academically and prefer a university with a strong academic reputation as I understand there is a whole life ahead of me after my volleyball career is over. Lastly, my work ethic is second to none. I have been told I am "highly coachable" by many and the hardest worker on and off the court. My college coach will have my full commitment, heart and soul throughout my college playing career!
