Bio

Hailey Erickson started coaching at Excel in 2018 and is entering her eighth season of coaching club. Hailey believes in growing the player on and off the court and that every athlete has a purpose beyond volleyball. Coach Hailey’s mission is to prepare athletes to compete at their highest levels and become the best athlete and teammate they can possibly be. She began with Excel in the boys program, and then quickly realized that she wanted to be involved in the girls program as well. In 2023, Hailey led EXCEL 11 Red to qualifying for USAV Junior Nationals.  Likewise, 2021 Hailey led the 15 Red Boys team to an Open Bid and remained in the top 5 in the country throughout the season, and she coached 11 Red into a successful group of volleyball players.  Hailey consistently qualifies teams at the highest level.  Multiple players from Hailey’s past club teams credit much of their love for the game and continued successes to the encouragement and belief that Hailey had in them in their early ages.
Hailey has worn a few hats at Excel because she loves the game of volleyball and working with all ages. On the boys side she helps with recruiting in new athletes and sand volleyball, and on the girls side she run the EXCEL Youth program including the Rookies Club Prep program.
Hailey started playing club at 12’s and played for a few of the clubs around the area. She went on to play at Houston Baptist University and served as a captain her Senior year. In her time there, HBU picked up beach volleyball, and she was able to play two seasons of beach along with her four seasons of indoor.
Hailey majored in Marketing, but after two years of insurance sales she realized her calling was to coach athletes. She serves as an Assistant Athletic Director and Head Volleyball Coach at Coram Deo Academy. Almost every day of the week, she is involved in some form of volleyball practice. Volleyball is a key of who she has become today, and she views it as her way to encourage and mentor athletes of all ages. She wants everyone to have the opportunity to be on a team where the other players, coaches, and even the athlete believes in themselves.
