Bio

This will be Lauren’s fifth year of coaching with Excel Volleyball and she is so thrilled to coach for the club that she played at for six years(13-18). Last year, Lauren she assisted EXCEL 17N Red and was the head coach for 10 Red.  EXCEL 17N Red qualified for GJNCs in the National division.  It was a joy for Lauren to share her knowledge and love for volleyball with all the girls on her team.  Lauren will assist 17N Red again this upcoming season.

One of her most memorable moments at Excel was when she was 15 and traveled to Italy to train with the Italian SPES Volleyball Club.  This is definitely a home coming for Lauren.  Volleyball has been in Lauren’s blood since she was 11 years old and joined a team at a local gym with a couple of neighborhood friends. She loved doing gymnastics, was on a dance team and was very successful at English Horseback riding, but gave it all up to play volleyball.  In club Lauren started out as a setter and then at 15, changed to a defensive specialist/libero.  Lauren was a varsity starter at Plano Senior High. In her senior year, Lauren was honored to be voted ‘Defensive Player’ of the Arlington Invitational tournament, by the coaches and then helped her team get to the state quarterfinals after a second place 6A district finish. Lauren left Plano to attend Lamar University and play volleyball. The highlight of Lauren’s college career was her junior year where she ranked sixth in the Southland Conference in digs per set, appeared in every match, and was second on the team in service aces.   In May of  2017, she graduated Cum Laude from Lamar University.

Lauren can’t wait to be able to share what she has learned and loved about volleyball.
