Sasha Gutor joins Excel Volleyball Club this season bringing with him an extensive resume that includes over 30 seasons as a coach in a wide range of experiences across the globe and across both guys and girls volleyball. Sasha most recently has been the Technical Director and a Head Coach for Silver State Volleyball Club out of Reno, NV. Sasha also previously coached at TAV from 2001-2003.

Sasha’s volleyball experience began as a player rising to become a starter for the Ukrainian Men’s National Volleyball Team and won a World Championship as a starter for the USSR National Team. He also competed professionally for 10 seasons and was won a litany of awards and recognition.

As a coach, Sasha has led the Ukrainian Men’s Junior National Team, many professional teams in Europe, Women’s professional teams in the US, Girls Club Teams, participated on the staff of the Men’s Volleyball Team at Penn State and Cornell, worked with the High Performance Program with the US Junior National Team, and so much more.

Sasha’s children, Ellen and Alex, both are accomplished volleyball players themselves who have followed in their father’s footsteps with a passion to train and teach the game to others. Ellen competed collegiately for St. Johns while Alex was an All American at Penn State as a member of their Men’s program.

Sasha is relocating back to Dallas to be closer to family and continue his life’s work in the most competitive and exciting volleyball region as North Texas continues to grow in prominence on the girls side while taking the boys game to the next level with increased support in recent years!
